Them: A hiring manager at a mid-sized company.

Goal: Give a 60-90 second self-introduction that hits: name, background, current situation, why you want this job.

Grammar in this conversation — "depuis" with present tense

For an action that started in the past and is still going, French uses présent + depuis — NOT past tense like English does. "I have been living here for a year" = "J'habite ici depuis un an."
