Them: You're calling the landlord, Madame Tremblay.

Goal: Confirm it's still available, ask the rent, and schedule a viewing.

Grammar in this conversation — Polite questions with "est-ce que"

Sticking est-ce que in front of any statement makes it a polite question. No word reorder needed — much easier than inversion. In Quebec especially, this is the everyday way to ask something neutral.

• Il est disponible. → Est-ce qu'il est disponible ?
• Je peux le visiter. → Est-ce que je peux le visiter ?
• Vous acceptez les chiens. → Est-ce que vous acceptez les chiens ?
