Overview

Three ways: intonation, est-ce que, inversion. Use the easiest in speech.

1. Intonation (easiest)

Just raise your voice at the end.

2. Est-ce que (safe formal)

Add Est-ce que at the start.

3. Inversion (formal writing)

Flip verb + subject with a hyphen.

Question words

qui (who), que/quoi (what), où (where), quand (when), pourquoi (why), comment (how), combien (how much).
